About GPU

GPU Stand for Graphics Processing unit. GPUs are used in embedded Systems, mobile phones, personal computers, work stations, and game consoles. A Graphics Processing unit is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer in a frame buffer intended for output to a Display Device.


First GPU was introduced to the wider market in 1999. It was invented by NVIDIA. It was presented as "Single - Chip processor with integrated transform, lighting, triangle setup/clipping, and rendering engines.
