Main difference between these mechine is price. Here, you can find desktop in good price but here laptop will be very expensive. You can find high quality desktop in $400 but you can't find powerfull laptop in that price. That's why main deiifence between these mechine is price. So, if you want to buy best computer in less price then Desktop will be best choice.
Second big defernce between these mechine is portability. If you want to carry you computer every were then, laptop will be best. because laptop is smaller than desktop. but if you don't want to travel with your computer then desktop will be best.
Now, later if you want to upgread your computer into powerful computer ;then desktop will be best because you can not upgread every parts of laptop. If you want to upgread processor in laptop then you can't do it. but in desktop you can upgread processor or any parts with your hand.
Most of gammers, programmers and video editor are using desktop because desktop have big screen.
